Hey Team! Thank you so much for “Supporting Your Local Box!!” I received the money you all raised in PayPal, and Carrie and I are so very thankful! Can’t say it more than that, so thanks, you’re amazing.
Here’s what I got from Jay about all the ins and outs: [I put my notes and snarky comments in these brackets]
The four phases are:
1. By mid-May, the state will allow retail curbside pickup [isn’t that happening lots of place right now?]; automobile sales; and car washes [Working at the Car Wash Yeah] with social distancing restrictions. This phase also would allow drive-in spiritual services with one household per vehicle [instead of “BurgerMaster”, it’s “GodMaster” haha] , Inslee said.
2. Additional expansions of outdoor recreation activities, including camping [go Leann go!!]. Small gatherings of five people or less would be allowed, as well as new construction and in-store retail purchases [I think that means if you guys want tape I can sell it to you] with health restrictions. Barber shops and salons could reopen. Restaurants could reopen with 50 percent capacity and table size no larger than 5. Some professional services and offices could open up as well, even though teleworking would remain strongly encouraged. Pet care services including grooming could resume.
3. [This sounds to me like sometime in June!!] Gatherings up to 50 people or less, including sports activities, would be allowed and non-essential travel would resume. Restaurants could move up to 75 percent capacity and bars at 25 percent capacity; gyms and movie theaters could reopen at 50 percent capacity [our space is rated for over 100 people, which means we’re never close to capacity, which means business as usual]; retail, libraries, museums and government buildings could reopen. Recreational facilities such as pools could open at 50 percent capacity. Nightclubs and entertainment venues would still not be able to reopen.
4. The majority of public interactions would resume. Gatherings of more than 50 people would be allowed, but still while practicing social distancing. Nightclubs and entertainment venues would be able to reopen.
Washington had 14,327 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 814 deaths [5.7% chance of dying, not chances I’m keen on taking] as of Wednesday, the most recent data from the state Department of Health.
OK guys 🙂 So here we go on phase 2!
#1: FOOD Stuff. We should be working together on our diets. We’ll be getting more videos out with dessert ideas ASAP 🙂 “The Quarantine Fifteen” is a real thing, and we’re going to avoid it! Carrie and I want to help you guys come up with smart DOABLE plans that will keep you sane and healthy. IF you want to try anything more intense (Fasting, Keto, Whole30, etc.) we’ve got your back and can help and advise, just ask!
#2: Rest Day Zoom Q&A/Lectures. I’ve got to teach! I get a little weird when I can’t tell people stuff that matters 🙂 The boys are getting sick of it. I’m asking for times that you’d like to see a special half hour or 45 min talk. I’d like to do it on rest day. Maybe after the 5:30 Bendy Tendy Terra Time? I’d also like to ask you guys for topics of interest. I can certainly drone on about fitness stuff for hours at a whack, but if it’s something you want to hear about that’ll be cooler I think!
#3: House Calls! I’ve been working privately with a few people over zoom, and it’s been really good, smashing on basics, getting nagging things taken care of etc. Really cool. Considering social distancing and all that, obviously tactile cueing is out, but there’s really no reason why I can’t hang out in your driveway while you’re in your garage, or outside with me, and we’re working on movement, specific stretching, strength exercises, etc. Holler at me and we can talk rates and times and all that.
#4: Special Planning! I’ve done this for a few folks as well, it’s also been a very cool challenge. Here’s the parameters: [client] has two KB’s, a stone, an alley, a pair of rings, and a pair of 8lb DBs. I visit, check out their area, and then set upon devising a whole slough of wonderful workouts for them using what they have and their area, and their goals. If zoom just can’t work for you and want something more, shoot me a text and let’s figure out what will work!
#5: Mel is back!! She’s OK to work, so she is 🙂 I’ve got her contact info, if you need it, we could probably all use some ungluing after these home workouts!
#6: We’re going to establish some quarantine baselines in the home workouts this next cycle. The purpose of making these records, is so we can smash them when we get back to the gym. Look forward to these workouts and movements!
