Kids CrossFit!!! Wahoo!!

Yes yes yes!  This is something we’ve been trying to put together for a while now!!!    It’s a really fun way to get kids into working out, getting stronger and getting them more prepared for the sports they play or just recess!!!  Don’t you wish you still had recess?  I know I do, oh wait.  I work here, I can totally workout whenever I want….   Well, don’t YOU wish you still had recess 🙂

Details:  Saturday 3:30 pm will be the first CrossFit Kids we’ve run.  Deidra will be teaching it, she’s the head coach for Mountlake Terrace High Basketball and therefore she’s already been checked out by the authorities so she can work with kids – no badness here!!

Just come ready to run around and get all tired and have a blast!!

Another Fun Night at Local's

The Friendly Fifth of February

Ha ha ha – D and I had a chuckle when we came up with this little tagline 🙂  Here’s the deal, we’re finally ready to accept a lot more CrossFitters into our space.  I’m really happy with our equipment set-up and the ability to move it around!!!   Wahoo.

So, to kick this off we’re having “The Friendly Fifth of February” a day to bring all friends, associated others, and peoples of all kinds to try out Local’s Gym.  We’re going to throw a good (read: scalable, technically simple, yet tough) workout on the board and get people running through it whenever they can make it.

All our trainers will be here throughout the day, Deidra, Monique, Zach, Spencer and myself assisting people, answering questions, cracking the whip  etc.

Main Workouts will be held at

6:00am

7:00am

9:00am

11:30am

6:00pm

7:00pm

If one of these times doesn’t fit you or your friends’ schedules call us or just drop in, we’ll be here all day kickin’ having  a blast sharing CrossFit with everyone!

This is our favorite “large” man, this is an over 40″ box he tried to jump onto, Zach missed, we laughed hard, it was great.

Trainers Wanted

Uncle Sam

We’re ready to get some more bodies in here! We’ve just breached the hundred member mark, and so we’re ready to start more aggressively recruiting some quality people. Local’s Gym is different from your regular gym. If you’re a trainer who is bored with being owned by your lousy fitness manager – come check us out.

We’re still a very small club, we have no employees. What that means is that anyone who wants to be a trainer here is their own entity. You become the William Wallace of trainers. Pay us a little, keep ALL the money you make, pretty simple huh?

If you’ve got questions call me, Jesse 206.228.3043. If you know someone who should call me, give me their number and have them call me – it’ll be great.

Relay for Life Kick-off Meeting!

FFL Logo
This event is great.  Local’s Gym has put a team together to support the fight against Cancer.  You know why?  Because Cancer sucks.  Everyone knows someone who’s had it, lived through it, fought it, had surgeries because of it – hell, even my little dog (100lbs) Riggs had Cancer.

At this point I’m ready to tabata this Relay For Life.  For those of y’all out there who know Local’s Gym real well, remember when we “CrossFitted” our printer, and it wasn’t up to the task?  Basically we were printing like mad without resting it, poor poor printer, and it died a horrible death.  PC Load Letter?!  It was hysterical.

Hope

The “Lynnwood CrossFitters” team at this point consists of my cute wife, myself and our two unborn sons.  I’m looking to aid the fight against Cancer in a big way.  I set our goal at $3,100 dollars.   The best way to get involved here is to either join the team (just let me know), or start a team of your own (the best choice overall) if you think you can bring it and challenge the Lynnwood CrossFitters.
If you want to start your own team or just want to know more about Relay for Life before you decide whether or not to contribute to the fight come to the Kick-off!  January 9th at Ballinger Lake Golf Club, 6:15pm.  23000 Lakeview Drive, Mountlake Terrace, Wa 98043.
