WOD

T-shirts and swimming workouts!

Yay Burpees!

Now that I got that out of the way – look for new shirt designs up on the white board, you can ogle them wantingly, or tell someone that you want to buy the shirt!  We’re taking pre-orders right now so we can get a better idea of what sizes/colors etc. to get!  Check ’em out!

Secondly I wanted to throw out the idea of doing a few pool-workouts in January?  Lynnwood Rec Pool is not that far away, it’s only $5.00 we can count it as a CrossFit Class and do maybe two in Jan and see how we like it.  I assume they’ll be tough, considering that if you so tired that you can’t swim you’ll die, these workouts may be more motivational to in the words of Dori "just keep swimming."

Post back and let me know what you’re thinking, dates, times, "hell no’s" will be met with scowls.

Hands or elbows?  As the bar floats in mid-clean, is our lovely demo-femme giving us hands or elbows?

Post your thoughts, postulations to comments and keep rumors about how her calves got so shapely to yourself.

Yay Jinglebell Run!!

Despite stormyness and all manner of ill begotten-ness there is a horde of Lynnwood CrossFitters going to the Jingle Bell Run supporting the Arthritis Foundation.

So many in fact that there will be no coverage for the gym!

SO.

The gym will be closed this Sunday, sorry for any inconvenience missed trips etc. But hey, we’re talking about the greater good here!

Getting Strong!

Remember those really cool kinematic sequence shots from back in the day?  Well here’s ours – 21st century style including chains and color!!  Dan S. repping out 8×3 chain squats at around 70% to help develop drive through the middle…

Nice, nice.  Only 245 at the bottom but closer to 365 at the top 🙂

Yeah Oly Class is tough.  But big iron never looked so good!

Fast lifter, or slow camera.  I choose fast lifter 😉

Awesome Kettlebell Contest!!!

We had fun, and yeah we got tired 🙂

Awesome work everyone!  Scores and bell weights are by the names on the right side of the page – look forward to the next KB comp in the new year and start getting psyched for our major KB event in August!

The games the "big box" gyms play

So here’s a new one.

I get a phone call one day.  A guy tells me his name, and that he wants to train with one of our trainers.  Sounds great!  For whatever reason I don’t give out her number but rather get his.  I felt like I shouldn’t give it out, which to a prospective client is awfully weird.  So, I give her the number and she recognizes it from somewhere, but the name doesn’t click.  I tell her to call it from a pay phone if she’s creeped out about in case he just wants her number.  She calls him, and lo and behold it’s an old co-worker who’s trying to recruit her to be a general manager for the gym he works for AND that he gave me the wrong name so that she would call him back.

WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT?

Would you want to hire someone who you know wouldn’t call you back if that person knew it was you on the other end of the line?

That’s a little too shady for this guy.  We’ll just keep to basics, good people, more of them, and the not oft-enough muttered; "less talk, more chalk".
